Seminar: Carbon nanotubes and hybrid materials for sustainable energy applications (Prof. J. M. Rosolen, Univ. de São Paulo). Schedule change: 9th July, 10:00, Aula degli Stemmi

UNICAM researchers and students are invited to attend this seminar, which is interesting for a wide audience (physics, chemistry, material science, earth science).

Please NOTE: The seminar will be held in Aula degli Stemmi, the 9th of July at 10:00 am.

Prof. Rosolen (USP) has a solid collaboration with Italy and a special legacy with the University of Camerino, where he has been post-doc (chemistry and physics) many years ago.

Carbon nanotubes and hybrid materials for sustainable energy applications

José Maurício Rosolen

Carbon nanostructures (CN) are often found in many of the envisaged technological application as a network whose resulting properties depend on architecture and type of nanostructure employed to assemble the network (polymer, environment remediation, medicine, catalyst, photovoltaic cells, batteries, etc).  On substrates carbon nanotube (CNT) network can provide or not hybrid materials whose properties can be controlled by many parameters as instant amount, type of tubes as well as the type of substrate where the CNT is mounted. In the present seminar, I will show some claimed technological application of carbon nanotubes and hybrid micro/nanostructurated composites resulting from electronic interaction between the charcoal, carbon nanotube, networks. This new class of materials is particularly attractive to several technological applications like batteries, heterogeneous catalysis, filter, mechanical reinforcement of polymers.
