Graphene oxide (GO), the oxidized form of graphene, is a well-known two-dimensional material resulting from the chemical exfoliation of graphite. Initially proposed as a low cost precursor of graphene with potentialities for mass production, GO has gained specific increasing importance among Graphene related two-dimensional materials thanks to its reduction tuneable physical/chemical properties. In this paper we review our studies
on fundamentals and potential applications of GO.
